The Internet Time-line ProjectA compilation of selected events related to the development of the Internet. It is designed to be used in engagement with a critical paper, Four Models For Networks, listed below.
(Please refer to "Using the Time-line" which contains a quick guide on how to use the time-line, as well as some notes on the purpose and limitations of this project. A separate file contains the references used.)
A critical paper describing four models applicable to the Internet. It contains a grey column mapping the theories to the time-line.
The four models are:
- Deleuze and Guattari's rhizome
- Rothschild's bionomics
- Chaos theory
- Malpas and Wickham's governance and failure
A selection of books and articles, to be used for my impending thesis.
