Helen Nicolson

Helen is currently completing a Doctor in Education at Queensland University of Technology. Her research interests are the application of conversation analysis, and membership categorisation analysis in educational settings. Helen is also interested in literacy education, second language teaching and learning and teaching students with special needs in mainstream settings. The doctoral thesis is about the co-construction of literacy practices in mainstream secondary English lessons in a school with a culturally diverse student clientele and in a low socio-economic area.
