Reece Plunkett

Reece Plunkett completed her PhD in the School of Media Communication & Culture at Murdoch University in 2005. The thesis is titled: Making Things Otherwise: An Ethnogenealogy of Lesbian and Gay Social Change in Western Australia. Reece teaches in the Women's Studies and Mass Communication programs and is co-Convenor of the Gay and Lesbian Archives of WA, located at the Murdoch University Library.

Her current research interests involve using an EM-based approach for inquiry into categorisation and membership around sex, particularly in relation to 'queer identities' and 'queer communities'. As well as engaging with queer theory, Reece's work is an account of LGBT/Q 'identity-ing' and 'community-ing' in Perth, WA, since 1970.
