Staff - Tim Burns

Tim Burns has been working in New York from 1976 to 1996 as a filmmaker, theatre director and artist. His work crosses several mediums including filmmaking, directing, painting, installation, and performance and offers a multi faceted view of contemporary art. He was awarded an ArtsWA Fellowship in 1999 and an Australia Council Artists Fellowship in 1996.

His theatre and film work has been shown at international film festivals which include Berlin, Edinburgh, Montreal, Sydney, Melbourne, Tokyo and has been aired on PBS, Time Warner and various cable networks in the USA, the ABC and SBS in Australia, ZDF in Germany and Channel Four in Great Britain.

His television credits include producer/director for The Operatorsa thirteen-part interactive sitcom for cable TV through Time/Warner in New York, producer/director for Playboy Pay TV in New York, artOfficial, National award winner of info/doco series for Community TV in 1999. He has also produced, directed, shot or edited a number of Music Videos in New York for bands such as Crowded House, Midnight Oil and Nick Cave.

His major film credits include Luke’s Party and Against the Grain, both which had international success through awards and screenings.
