Q. Is the conference running for the full three days?

A. Yes. The conference will run for the full three days finishing at approx. 5-6 pm on the third day.

 


 

Q. Do presenters or exhibitors in attendance have to pay full registration fees?

A. Presenters or exhibitors in attendance pay according to the fee categories.  Exhibitors only sending film/artwork do not pay.

 


 

Q. Are delegates from ‘Third World’ countries entitled to the concessional rate?

A. Yes.  The term on the registration form is “developing countries”.

 


 

Q. Will I be able to pay by credit card?

A. Yes.

 


 

Q. How much is the registration fee in my currency?

Q. Would you please recommend some cheap accommodation?

A. There is a list of available accommodation in Fremantle.  Unfortunately we are unable to recommend any accommodation although we have suggested a couple of hotels.

 


 

Q. Will the conference proceedings be refereed?

A. We are planning to have a refereed conference proceedings (online). In addition, we are negotiating a special issue of the journal Continuum, with a selection of papers from the conference, for 2009-10.

There will be a Publications section on the website, where we hope to have confirmed information soon. Delegates will be also advised by email.

 


 

Q. What is the distance from Fremantle train station to Murdoch University?

A. The distance is 11.6 kms.

 


 

Q. Is there any accommodation available on the Murdoch University campus?

A. No.  Unfortunately the campus does not have any available accommodation.

 


 

Q. Is payment of registration fees by electronic funds transfer (EFT) available?

A. Yes.  EFT is available.  The details are on the registration form.

 


 

Q: Do I need a visa to travel to Australia?

A: Please contact the Australian embassy or consulate nearest to your place of residence. You may also ask your travel agent. You will find visa information on the Australian Immigration Department's website: http://www.immi.gov.au/

 


 

Q: Do I need any vaccinations before I travel to Australia?

A: Please ask your GP or a "travel doctor"

 


 

Q: How long are the presentations?

A: Presenations will run for 20 minutes (including audio-visual aids) plus 10 minutes of questions & answers.

 


 

Q: Can someone else present a paper in place of the delegate if the delegate is not able to attend?

A: Yes, provided that the registration has been paid and the Conference Administrator has been advised of the change.

 


 

Q: Are papers made available from the website prior to the conference peer-reviewed?

A: No. The purpose of the optional submission of papers prior to the conference and their display in the conference website is to allow for academic exchange ahead of the individual presentation.

 


 

Q: Will there be a call for submissions for a conference proceedings?

A: Yes. For details, go to the Publications page.

 


 

Q: Will papers published in the conference proceedings be peer-reviewed?

A: Yes

 


 

Q: Can papers already published in the conference proceedings be later submitted to academic journals?

A: Yes and we kindly ask that the original publication be acknowledged.
